Tenderness

A Sultan came to ask the great Sufi Kharaqani for some advice.
Kharaqani said:
“Keep up with four practices:
Avoid what God has made forbidden
Keep up prayers with the community
Be generous with God’s creation
Be tenderhearted with God’s creation”
[‘Attar, Tazkerat al-Auliya’, 669]
One was about his own connection with God
One was about his connection with God, through community
Two were about how we treat humanity and fellow creatures.
